I know it's been a while since anyone posted in this thread, but there are a few jeepers here in Lubbock. I'm a student at Tech, and I know there are a few more that go to Tech that don't know about JF

Hey! Some folks are going to Buffalo Springs Lake on Sunday for some BBQ and wheelin! Anyone who is interested is welcome!

We are going to get there between 9 and 10 and get ready for some lunch and then hit the trails. The trails aren't the greatest but they really aren't bad for only being a 15 min drive away.

Hope ya'll can make it!

Hmm, I might make an appearance.

Btw, does anyone know who drives the lifted XJ that parks behind the chemistry building on campus? It has a tire carrier, aftermarket front and rear bumpers, a winch, and I think about 5 inches of lift.

I had a good time. Thats even factoring in the 2 near rollover scares, me being one of them. Thanks for the help out there. Your Jeep seemed to have received a pretty decent workout pulling us out of those hairy situations. I am looking forward to going out there again. Its nice that it's so close to home.

Sorry, I haven't looked in here lately.

We had our first run of the year out at Post and had a HUGE turnout! Some stuff got broken but everyone had a great time.

I will post up some pics tomorrow as will Firedog (I hope because I know his are better) when I'm not still shaking from pucker factor.

There will plenty more to come so hopefully some more of you guys can make it!

Aww damn it. I missed it. I wanted to go with my stock cherokee again :-)

You guys let me know next time you're going over there, and I'll try to make it. I should be lifted another 2-3 inches this summer with some 32's

I actually thought about you and your Cherokee while we were out there. But Jeffa is right, we had a good time. My little red Jeep was pretty much the only vehicle out there that wasn't lifted, locked, and on 33s or larger. I was actually pretty impressed in what it was able to handle. Some other people out there were actually shocked too. Only bad thing is that it does drag the ground quite a bit. Gotta get that thing lifted! And it did a heck of a lot better with the swaybar disconnected. I didn't disconnect last time and it was definately a limiting factor. I did get a few pictures while we were out there. I'll try to post some of them once my wife gets back with the camera. Probably will be late this evening.

Everyone that is interested go to fwdnut.com This is our club site. It has several more pics, calender of events and a link to our club forum (sometimes the forum can be dead but people do watch it so if you have a question go ahead and ask it).

So the next Post run is Feb 13th.

Here are a couple of cell phone pics

This is Firedog making it up one of the toughest trails of the day!!!

This was about half the group that we had come out.

This was THE toughest trail of the day. Some pics just don't do justice.

Here are some more pictures:

Entry point to the climb that Jeffa posted as his second picture

The spot at the top that everyone had trouble with

Another angle

Jeffa coming up a difficult section - I didn't try this spot

Coming down on the other side

The guys in these rigs had barely any troubles out there

Group shot

I have more pictures, but this is a decent variety of the day's events.

I forgot this one. Look under the front driver-side tire at the ground breaking loose. Just below it is a cavernous area that would have swallowed even that rig.

Decided to take a different line - and used the security of a winch line attached to the front just in case (not attached yet in this pic)
