Get new fenders! Done.

I have 295/70 17s and when rocking on 2 wheels I BARELY touched the fender well plastic liner.

No problemo!

Next, in cutting my pinch seem and rubi rock rails, and getting 35s and adding a bumpstop.

Again... All I have is a 1.5" puck on the front the level it out.

I know a guy running 35s with NO lift and has no problems. Granted, he took his fenders OFF. LOL.

Oh. And as for the Rubicon, I agree...

The reasons to have one are for the lockers, swaybar disconnect, and 4:10 axle ratio, which can actually be obtained in other models if custom ordered (I think).

I find the axle locks and sway bar disco to be a HUGE advantage. More than I would have ever imagined.

What all do you need to do to make sure that pinch seam doesn't come undone when you cut it off??? That's where mine is rubbing in the rear. Thought about hacking it off, but wasn't sure if there were any issues with doing so. Interested to see how to remedy this.

Regarding the pinch seam, I don't think there's any risk in it coming "undone". I think the only concern is sealing it up well and ensuring you protect it from rust. There are write ups all over the forum on how to do it. I'm gonna hack it off with a reciprocating saw as soon as the temps drop below 95.

I will be around all day everyday starting Monday. Oh by the way, the build begins tomorrow when ever I get home.

Wow...this thread has been dead lately!

We're planning another trip out to Hidden Falls for Sunday, Sept 8th, if anyone wants to join us. There should be at least a couple of TJs and a YJ. Post up here if you plan to attend, so we will be expecting you. We'll meet at Camp B at 10am. For those with CBs - let's use Ch 4.

The weather should be good - partly cloudy and 96 degrees.

Pictures from our last trip on July 21st:

I don't want to cut my seams. I did some testing with a 2x4 (1.5"x3.5" actual) at Hidden Falls. I didn't get any rub. I will replace them with 2"x4" tube stock.

Dude you need bump stop extensions. I will post up some photos when I build mine. Cheap and super easy.
