Nick,

Although I have never pulled a R&P out I think you need a case spreader to make it easier to remove it all.

Put a box-end wrench on one of the ring gear bolts and spin the drive shaft so that the wrench catches on the top of the housing. Put a screwdriver thru the ujoint for a little more leverage and it will walk it right out.

I have done 4 or 5 different ones this way and it normally makes it very easy to remove. (Just leave the bearing caps on loosely so that it does not just fall to the ground.)

Anyone interested in a nice mountain bike? I need some extra cash and I don't have the time to ride it anymore. The frame is a little small for me anyway... I might sell my mtr/s as well as the extra wheels I have laying around, too. I've got a set of 5 aluminum 15x8's. I may even sell my little trailer. :

I've got 2 brand new 35" mtr/s sitting in my garage that I haven't mounted yet. The wheels were painted black when I got them from JR, but I stripped the paint and polished them. They are just the usual ones that you see everywhere. I had planned to put them and the new tires on my jeep, but I just need some extra money now.

Yeah, I think the insurance just changed on my house, which is now costing me quite a bit more a month. And I just need to clear some stuff out anyway.

It's the 4x6 one that I built up. It still needs fenders and lights. And the tires that are on it aren't mine, although I can come up with some different ones for it.

little update, got the carrier out with some more prying. Then the tie rod didnt want to drop out(hitting the knuckle with hammer). Eventually i got everything out, installed the locker 3 times(stupid cross pin wouldnt go all the way). And now im looking up torque specs for the R&P bolts, caps, etc.

God i hope this locker works, this has been a pain in the arse. Couldnt do it all in the diff cause of my regear....
