I'm up for either day,
need to explore the coast for a good place to hang and camp in the summer
away from the crowds so the dogs can play free, I can drink beer and they can howl at the moon all night....

Sand dunes, beach sea.....mmmmmmmthats it work just got completely forgotten !!!!!.

The only place [I know of] that you can drink beers is at crystal beach. And you can't really wheel there either, but I'm thinking more of a chill and relax kind of trip. I used to go and bring Cletus, never had any problems, he absolutely loves it.

Two things.

First, the beach you're looking for is Matagorda Beach. It's about an hour from Houston and you have to buy a beach pass but that's only $6-8 for the year. You can buy the beach pass at the beach or at the convenience store in town.

Matagorda Beach is 24 miles of nothing but open sand. Camp where you want, start a campfire of driftwood, fish, drink, swim, play with dogs, etc... We used to go there on occasion during the summer for a day or an overnight beach run.

Second thing is VERY important. In the state of Texas, it is ILLEGAL to walk, drive, or disturb any beach dune that has vegetation. Minor hint here is that according to the law enforcement ALL dunes have vegetation regardless if you can see it or not. Do NOT go anywhere near a dune with your vehicle!!

Have fun and enjoy!!

Stacy

Not sure how to get there but I'm sure we can figure it out. Why don't you come with us? It'll be good to let Jennifer outdoors sometime, and everybody wants to see the baby!

I flopped and broke my piece

If it won't budge, get a bigger hammer, if it breaks in the process it needed to be fixed anyway.

Looks like a pretty big group this time I would estimate 15 or more have said yea so far but based on the last 2 trips that usually cuts in half.

05 Grand Cherokee Limited, 5.7 hemi, quadradrive II, Nav, 3" lift, JK Rubi wheels/tires, 4xGuard skids

HA! At least we're not as bad as some coastal communities, such a new orleans, built in a bowl.
