Yeah, I heard of those, but never have been. How are the trails in Bridgeport?

they're not too bad... if you're into rocks, they're "rated" a little easier than clayton. there are only a couple 5's, lot of 3's.
if i had to guess, bridgeport is only a few hundred acres, not a lot of room. gilmer/barnwell mountain is quite a bit bigger, but ~3x farther from fort worth, with 3x the size and number of trails.

Ha, I was about to ask you the same thing. Let me know what you find.
I'm going out camping to Mineral Wells this weekend. I'm thinking of heading out to Bridgeport in a couple weeks though to try that out.

So this is probably a newbie question, but can I just show up at Bridgeport and go riding? I have off every other Friday and I don't know anyone else with a Jeep yet. Are people generally friendly?

New to off Roading and I will be moving to El Paso, currently in DFW. Anyone know of good places near those? I've read Bridgeport is good, anything close to El Paso?

If I remember right I think bridgeport is only open Saturday and Sunday.
You will find most jeepers are some of the friendliest people around.

I know this isn't a Offroad trail but the rural route roads around Possum Kingdom Lake are great "topless" cruises. A few weekends ago we started @ P.K. then went south to Breckenridge to Hwy. 6 then went all the way down to Clifton, TX on Hwy. 6... No Off Roading just a nice cruise with the top off through the hill country
