Oklahoma Wheeling Spots

Where are the best places in oklahoma to go wheeling? Trail driving to just messing around? I manage at ATV/ORV off road riding area in western Oklahoma, Little Sahara State Park. I field tons of calls about jeeps and the dunes and am regulary questioned on other riding reas in Oklahoma. I would like to be able to provide information on more places to go four wheeling. Thanks in advance.

Disney, Ok
Clayton, OK

Those are two of the more popular ones that I know of.

There is also Buzzard Canyon 18 miles south of Sayre, Oklahoma... but it only open during special events. It is a great place to wheel and you can find out more from their Face Book page.

Near coyle Oklahoma you can get on the Cimarron river and go 8 miles or more in either direction.

I heard there is a fairley new one in Purcell but I haven't been down to check it out. My friend said it's by where the 4x4s would play down by the creek under the bridge that seperates Purcell and Lexington. The owner of the property supposedly went ahead and build a trail. Anybody hear of this?

For anyone from Southern OK....say west of I-35, Bridgeport, Tx is nice area!
It's under a hour south of the TX/OK border!
1 through 4 Diamond trails.

I'm planning on going to Sundog on the 29th to check it out. It's in Purcell and there website says $10 entry. Trails, bogs and rocks.

I know a few people that go down there frequently for access. You can get on the river bed and travel up/down river too. In the summer months the water level is usually a few inches deep and sometimes dried up but at any time there could be deep holes and quicksand. I was out there 2 weeks ago and most of the water crossings were 1-2ft deep. Following tracks through water is usually best and if really concerned you could walk it first.

I usually get on the river in Norman but if our group travels the river we usually head down river toward Purcell, there is not much going on down river from Purcell so it seems most people head up river toward Norman.

I'm guessing you get on at the bridge between 9 east and 9 west? That sounds like a pretty wild time.

There are a few places to get on in Norman and a few on the Newcastle side that I know of, the bridge seems pretty popular though. I have a buddy with land that I access on the west side or a few miles up river from the bridge.
