Kansas Rocks is the closest at 1 1/2- 2 hrs depending on where. I'm in Olathe and it takes me roughly an hour and 15 mins. Everything else is 3hrs +

I heard there is a place out in Clinton missouri?? Might be worth checking out. One thing I was wondering about, are there any god awful dirt roads in the metro area that would count as wheeling?

There is but it's atv's/dirtbike's only as far as I know. There are some dirt roads but I don't know where they are. You might want to check some of the local forums for info on those.

Thanks I appreciate it! For everyone that reads this, lets start posting any places you find to wheel within an hour or 2 of KC on here and get a list going. This includes parks, but more importantly things like awesome dirt roads and other public places that are not considered parks but still legal.

It's a bit further but Tuttle Creek ORV, just north of Manhattan, is awesome.
With an early start it is a great place to make a day of wheelin.

Tuttle Creek is one I'd like to make my way out to soon. Tons of great campgrounds around the area too, so you can make a weekend wheeling trip out of it

There are a lot of awesome dirt roads. The issue, is that many of them are actually poorly marked farm roads, and while "named" aren't meant for public use. Google will even show some of them as public, and "going through to different places". The issue is that they were never actually developed, and the local farmers inherited them. Also if you go in the ditch on some of them, you are actually in a farmers field which gives them the right to sue for monetary loses. I found this out the hard way one night. Over time, I got to know some of the local farmers, and found out about some of the other info. This is not true for all roads, but probably more than you realize. If you go east on I-70 toward Columbia, there is Fulton Park.

Hey guys, ive got a friend who has begun developing some land into a kind of offroad park type of thing in the KC area. Would anyone be interested in wheeling with us one of these days?

He has some land out in the Olathe area with some good mudding, a few trail rides, a rock crawl hill and a creek run. Ill talk to him about a time to get together and do some wheeling. WHere do you usually go?

I usually wheel Ks Rocks seeing as I'm on the Board of Directors for them. But a place in Olathe would be nice every now and again. Give me a couple weeks to get my brakes redone and I'll come wheel with you guys.
