What are some good easy/mild trails in northern CO

Hey guys.

I moved up to loveland about a month ago, and don't know of any trails up here. I have a stock 99 XJ sport with some all terrains, so I'm not looking for something extreem.

What would you reccomend up in the fort collins/estes park area?

I should be completely lifted, long arm'd, locked, and 33'd by the end of the winter so it'd be cool to go with some of you eventually.

Thanks guys!
Bryson

Moody Hill which is West of Horsetooth is a pretty good one. Pretty mild trail with a few optional obstacles. Kelly Flats isn't too bad either but its way up Poudre Canyon. I live in Fort Collins so maybe we'll hit up a trail sometime. Also check out www.traildamage.com for more trail info.

Moody is good, and if youre feeling adventerous, ive taken my stocker up Crystal Mountain which connects with Moody Hill. had to take a few bypasses, and it took a while but was still fun. Sevenmile road is also up the Poudre, right by Kelly Flats, and is pretty tame.

in estes area, i would reccomend Johnny Park and Pole Hill. Both are just a few minutes away from estes, and have great views too! and even closer than that would be storm mtn just outside of Drake.

i am also in loveland, so let me know if you ever want another stocker to wheel with!

Mine's not quite stock anymore but let me know if you guys wanna go up sometime I'll be happy to go anywhere. Most of the Colo guys live down in the Denver/Boulder area so it's not too often we hit up trails up here. It's nice to have a few more northern guys.

I live in Brighton, but work in Ft. Collins (hoping to move to FC soon). So I would be interested in some Northern trails as well. I have done everything between Nederland and Estes except for Miller Rock. The most northern trail that I have done is Storm Mountain.

Later,

Don

Bryson...what's up man? It's Nick (whiterice @thezcr.com).

Didn't realize you made it into the Offroading scene. We're heading down to Mt Antero on the 7th. You are welcome to join us then!

Not to highjack even more- but I started off with an 88 rx7.

I bought every single bolt on for that car over a 7 year period.

Those were some memories.

How is this for some rice:

What do you think Nick? San Francisco treat or what?

Hey Nick!!! It's crazy how we could come accross like this haha!

Yeah, after the red hatch got totalled last year, I decided to go ahead a get the jeep. It was a great investment though, because I will rolling out with a turbo kit for the 4.0Ls here soon. I'm even going to be partnering with Triad performance systems here in loveland to make it possible.

But I'll see If the 7th will work for me, and I'll get back to ya.

Hell yeah! That would be awsome if we could get a little northern CO wheeling group together.
