Slaughterhouse open again after all this rain we've had?

I haven't even thought about them closing it Pat. I will have to give the forest service another call...

Here is what you need:

Some companies are selling knock off versions that do not have the unibody tie in portion and are basically just for looks. These will not work for an actual recovery situation. Here is one of them:

Without that bar that extends back and ties into the unibody, it will rip out the bumper mounting holes in any real pull.

I am purchasing and getting a winch bumper installed by Josh J. with anchor shackles on it...

Should be good to go with that on.... Josh also said he may come up to Twin Cone too with his new TJ..

What kind of spare parts should I bring on this trail if any? I don't have any axle ujoints because the ones I have wont work in my new axle (newer D30 with the stronger ujoints). I plan on Bringing my spare front DS and it has ujoints on it that will work on the rear shaft if need be.

About the only spare parts I carry anymore are u-joints. Both the axle and drive shaft ones. I carry 2, one axle and 1 ds.
I also carry a foot of fuel line, a braided brake hose, air locker repair kit, a fan belt, a spare spring shackle, Nuts/bolts, duct tape and bailing wire.
Can kind of tell what I have broken on trail by what I carry as parts...and upgraded(axles, brakes, drive shafts, all have been upgraded so I don't need spares).

And tools...spare parts do no good if you can't put them in while on trail.

I had a spare ds ujoint, but it went into my now spare front DS before I knew what the problem was with it and thought it was ujoints (ended up being too much play in the splines). I also had a drive axle ujoint, but it will not work in a 94XJ axle. If I break a rear DS ujoint I will just transfer one of the front spare DS to the back DS. Not too worried about breaking an axle ujoint this trip since I have the bigger ujoints, but I'll try to grab one before the weekend.
