Trails near Silverton/Ouray September 22-30?

We're coming out to Colorado the last week of September and would like to spend the week in the Silverton/Ouray area driving some of the trails (the 2's and 3's). Would the weather typically work for this? Also we have a stock 2003 TJ with 30x9.50-15 Cooper STT's, what trails would you recommend or avoid?

Thanks,

Thanks...I've been reading on Trail Damage and Fun Treks and I think since we are going alone we will stick to the green trials (2 and 3 in Trail Damage). The scenery will be the big draw this trip.

What Justin said, stay away from Pougkeepsie - the rest you'll done fine on

If camping, bring warm bags - it'll be cold that time of year. Might also have snow to keep you company at the tops.

Bought a used slide in truck camper yesterday (hope that keeps the snow off). Planning on flat towing the Jeep behind the Dodge and camping at Silverton. Thinking about the Red Mountain RV Park.

Had a blast in the San Juan Mountains! Great trails: Imogene, Ophir, Cinnamon, Engineer, Junction Creek, Clear Lake. Beautiful scenery, nice people. Thanks Colorado,
