Since I'll be away from me jeep for a bit over 2 weeks coming up I needed to get outside again today before I leave.
I went up to Switzerland Trail, did a few of the offchutes, then hit up Pennsylvania Gulch. For those that went on Penn Gulch last year: it is a lot nicer w/o the giant snow drifts. Still isn't hard at all, maybe a 3/10.
Oh yeah, somewhere up there I lost my cell phone - not sure if I am stupid enough to try and go find it tomorrow after work or not. There were like 5 spots (all on offchutes) that I could have dropped it
Bear Gulch:
The trouble with the offchutes was that it was so tempting to go up the trails, but then on the way back down they are VERY steep and it is way too easy to start sliding. Kinda scary (err, stupid?)
For those who ran Penn Gulch, remember the only real rock on the trail?
And lastly a big asz steel door, kinda looks like it belongs on a submarine

Hey Ryan, did you go down to that abandoned mine w/that TIGHT switchback? It looked like there was a fair amount of snow....didn't get stock in any drifts??

Nope, didn't go down there just because of the minor shelf road action, since I was by myself I wanted to stick to sliding into tree's
Didn't get stuck in any drifts (aren't any yet) but I did get out to shovel several times when I was turning around on snow covered hills so I had traction otherwise I kept sliding downhill

Yeah I considered editing me running out of there, however I give everyone else a hard enough time I figure I need to give you guys something to jab me about
On the main trail it was maybe 3-4" deep, on the offchutes in the shade it was 8-12" deep

I lost my cell and it is just too important to consider it a loss and buy a new one so I attempted to retrace 5 hours of offroading from Yesterday, in just a couple horus of daylight today. I figured it was so warm today there was a good chance that the snow had melted around it.
I AM THE CHAMPION!!!
The last place I was going to look I found it...the second I saw it I remembered slipping on the ground there as I climbed up the berm. I think a banana is in order
In an effort to get home faster tonight then taking the rest of the trail I drove through the town of Sunset and then through the old mining down of Wall Street. I'll have to revisit these towns in the summer w/o a doubt. Lots of intact mining history left there!

Oh oh oh, the third pic I posted is where I lost it too...right behind the rear left tire. Stupid snow I almost didn't make it up to that spot, all of my tire spinning yesterday getting up there the first time made it turn into ice today. Had to dig for a while to get traction.
