Stock Jeep/4x4 Novice Runs

It seems there are a few people interested in stock jeep/novice runs in Colorado so, I thought I would start a thread to help organize some trail runs.

Let's try to hold out first event in June. Please state what day in June works for you. If you have experience 4wheeling and would be willing to lead us on a trail, please post below.

Thank you,
Scott

I wish I could join you but, June 6th is the one year anniversary of my father in law passing so, I'll be staying home with the wife that day.

Be safe and maybe we'll meet up some other time.

Thanks,
Scott

Went mudding today and found a nice deep puddle. Let me know if you head out later this month, I'm in.

Had a nice time, trails were in pretty good shape even with all the rain.

I know this post is a little old, but PLEASE be considerate of where you go mudding. China Wall is getting shut down because people were reckless and leaving the trail just to have a little "fun in the mud." this is how all our trails get shut down...

if it's not an actual trail, please don't go in there.

J.

Yeah this was on an unofficial trail on a friend of the families land by my house. Shold have gone around this rut or at least checked it first. What can I say I'm a n00b.
Good point on staying on the trails though, Thanks!

I'll be going through Colorado in August and would be interested in any run people are doing. I'll be heading south from Steamboat Springs back to Texas Aug 10-14 looking at easy to moderate trails that I can do with a stock TJ with SUV tires (245/75/16 Michelin LTX M/S2 [stupid dealership]). My plan is to take 3 to 4 days leaving Steamboat Springs camping and wheeling on my way back home.

Any suggestions on camping sites, trails, mountain bike trails, etc are all appreciated.

These books are a good start. You can source them from different places.

For Northern CO:

http://www.barnesandnoble.com/listin...-2671999357451

For Central & Southern CO:

http://www.abebooks.com/Guide-Colora...mc-_-PLA-_-v01

And this website:

http://www.traildamage.com/google_colorado.php

I would suggest you take the western side of Colorado through Montrose, Ouray, and Durango although going south through Leadville, Buena Vista, and Salida isn't bad either.

I'll be out in Colorado in a week for about 8 days doing some camping and novice offroading. I'm a bit of a flatlander, having grown up in IL, but I'm excited to test out my Liberty on some trails and enjoy the scenery. I might be up for a novice run depending on the location.
