Shocks

So I went to put on Jim's ZJ springs this afternoon, and I decided that my shocks are not long enough. There are too many choices out there and I don't know where to begin. I tried searching in the tires/shocks/suspension section and I know I need to get OME . What do you guys run what is a good shock what won't cost me an arm and a leg?
Thanks

Whatever you do, stay away from the Pro Comp ES3000's. They are about the worst shocks I have ever seen. I have them on the XJ, and the only reason I haven't swapped them out is because I haven't had the money.

I have the Rancho 9000's on the TJ, and I really like those. I need to get new ones, since they're crushed. But those are kinda pricey.

I've head the MX6 shocks are pretty nice though. Not sure on the price...

X2 on this. I have the ProComp 3000s on my Jeep too. My girlfriend bought them for me, and I hate to say it, but they ride pretty crappy. Actually really crappy.

Though on another note, we just put Rubicon Express shocks on her WJ and they ride super smooth. We've only put a few hundred miles on them so far, but I have been very impressed with them, and they were pretty cheap too. There is a guy in the Vender section of JeepForum who will get you super cheap prices on Rubicon Express stuff too. Nice guy. DC4WD is his username

Did you install the mono tube or twin tube shocks?

X3 on the pro comp's. Hate them, can't wait to replace them. Very rough ride, and they don't articulate as well as I'd like on the trail. Unfortunately, they're #3 or 4 on the list, may be a while.

That is an important part there...the twin tube versions suck IMHO when I had them.

Actually no I was mistaken, they are twin tubes. So far they are a lot better than those on my TJ. Though it really doesn't take much to make the ride better than the garbage carquest shocks that were on it.

Josh (Sailingnut) is running Arlo's old TTs - one puked out the top and is now a purdy paperweight, the other 3 are oozing...they went the slow route to death

His back passenger side makes really cool noises
