This Saturday

Anyone want to head out this Saturday for a run??

I know Don mentioned Crystal/Moody, but I was thinking something a little closer to Denver...I dunno though.

Anyone up for Saturday...I'm open to suggestions.

I'd be up for a ride. I need to get the cobwebs outta the TJ. Hopefully I can get the CB finished up by then. What other trails are you thinking about?

I'd go, but I get to go on a free trip to Orlando this weekend paid for by BestBuy instead.

Hey Kuk...I'm up for whatever. Don (Dnrisden) wants to do Crystal/Moody, but I'm not sure if I want to hike that far this weekend.

Not quite sure I want to go that far either, though I've never run those trails. I'm up for just about anything though...I just want to go play around a bit. It's been a while since I've been out.

Hey Kuk,

How about
Caribou Creek
http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=5

and Eldorado Mountain
http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=102

They are both next to Nederland. Not sure what they'd be like right now w/snow though.

Caribou Creek closes early. I would check to make sure it is still open.

Caribou is still open as of today.

Eldorado has some shelf road sections that could get scary if there is much snow so take em slow. Eldorado also isn't hard at all, but has some cool views. Caribou is fun in the mud + has a couple water crossings

I'll suggest Miller Rock as a trail stockers can do as well as some pretty flexy spots...add some snow and it'll be somewhat challenging for the lightly modded.

Jenny Creek would be a GREAT choice as well - as far as I know it is still passable at the end. That one is a total blast, half of it is driving through the creek

Any of those sound good. I haven't run any of those either, so that would be a new fun trail for me. I'm a little sketchy going on shelf roads with snow (), but other than that, they all seem good. I'm not really sure how any of them are in the snow (which I am sure all of them are probably under now), so not sure of the difficulties of that. Good views are a plus though, on top of a fun trail.

Arlo- How far is Jenny from Denver?

Jenny isn't too bad of a drive at all..From Denver take 70 or 6 (what ever you choose) to US6 North through Blackhawk which turns into the Peak to Peak Highway (HW72). When you reach Rollinsville (maybe 20 minutes at most) turn West and head up the mountains. Maybe another 15-20 minutes of a very poorly maintained dirt road up Rollins Pass after you pass Tolland and then Up to Jenny Creek. Awesome trail I am disappointed I won't make it again before it gets snowed in.
