Rollins Pass: Please read

I currently live in Boulder and my roommate lives in Grand County.

He says that East Rollins Pass should go all through to Winter Park, but i heard that there is a tunnel that is closed down blocking the way?

What's the situation?

It is closed. It used to be open

Tunnel has been closed since either '91 or '93 (can't remember)

Boulder Wagon Road was closed for BS reasons ~4-8 years ago.

Yeah, you used to be able, with a goodish rig, to get from the front range to Winter park via the Boulder Wagon road. It was steep and crossed over a big gas pipe a couple of times, and skirted a wilderness, which as I recall is why it closed... the gas pipeline was being driven over(how safe is that???), and the wilderness, those are issues. I also think it closed due to BS. as it was open for 100 years before the closure with no issues, until that darn wilderness moved in next door to it.

Bad neighbors ruined the whole neighborhood!

Here is a link to the history of the Moffet Road:
http://www.moffatroad.org/RPRA/RPRA_Home.htm

They have been continuously trying to get the road reopened.

I was lucky enough to get to drive all the way over in my friends CJ-5 while it was opened in1990.
