Red Cone Sunday.

Sorry about the short notice, but I was gonna ride my new bike, I just bought, but UPS just put a delivery exception on it, so I am SOL...
Instead:
We have decided to go drive Red Cone on Sunday.
Trailhead ...say 10:00. We could also meet at the fort or the like at 9:30.

Be aware:Webster is still closed, so we must exit via Montezuma/Keystone or Breckenridge.

Absolutely.
Lets meet at the fort around 9:15...
Do you know where the fort is? It's the 1st exit after C-470 heading south on 285, then north a quarter mile.

Tom --
You know I want to go, but alas, I'll be working on my house on Sunday .... putting texture on the walls before we paint. Since the baby is only 3 months away, I figure I better finally get to it.

Have fun, though, and be safe!

Had a good day on trail...
Thanks Jake!

We had an interesting thing happen to us on trail...
Came upon these guys on quads and one of the had rolled his quad over.
He said it rolled over and over again. I gave him a ride back up to the top of Red cone where he could get down... He fell off the quad early and was remarkably uninjured???
Webster was closed so they did red cone, but needed to get back to that side, so they tried going up red cone, he endo'ed backwards...

Sami found out that goat leavings tasted ...good!

Has Red Cone gotten that easy that you can just drive back up it?
I haven't done it for years - since before they leveled it all out I guess.
Before that it would have taken a monster machine to get back up it.

Thanks for the pics! I had a blast!

Y'all should have heard Jeepster hoopin and hollerin after driving up the back side of Red Cone.

I would add a few pics of my own, but apparently, iPhones don't work at 13000 feet. Who knew?
