Old Chinamans Gulch with Rockfrogs

I thought I would post a trail report of my trail ride with the Rock frogs on Saturday November 11th to Old Chiamans Gulch outside Buena Vista.

The weather was crisp but dry and sunny
15 rigs showed up for the days activity
Most rigs were "locked and lifted"...but not all...
There were a couple of non Jeeps in the "consist"(to borrow an old train term).
The breakage was so small as to be a non issue...A GOOD THING. There was a front drive shaft that came apart(a 15 minute fix, no breakage), and a tie rod got bent up a bit on a Tj, again completely trail fixable and not a reason to stop. We did however pass a group of Toyotas that were not having our good luck with breakage.

Many rigs needed a strap or two, including me, but in turn no one was taking the bypasses or easy lines.

***********
The people were a good group and a fun group that made me feel welcome
THANK YOU Eric and the ROCK FROGS
***********

A few pics in no particular order....

Here is the link with all the picture and videos(Waaayyy to many to repost here).

http://www.rockfrogs.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=492

We had a great time. Lots of rigs on the trail. We had about 15 rigs and another Rising Sun had about the same amount. I have seen more people make it up Whale Rock than on any other trip, unclude a SWB TJ. I didn't make it up because my front driveshaft slipped apart (I guess I need a longer spline now). A lot of crazy lines were taken through the rock garden with some major 4' wheel stands.

Thanks for to jeepster93 and MeloYelo for coming out.

Had a great time, and it was nice to meet everyone. I had forgotten my camera so I dont have any pics to post up .

Got the opportunity to perform my first trail fix, stupid rock bent my tie rod. It was easy enough to straighten out with some help and now I have an excuse to get something better.

Hey Jeepster, you got any pics of the Yellow TJ?

If it's not too much trouble, I would love to have a CD.

Thanks

No vibes...

Bad luck and breaking things have been the norm this summer, it has been a VERY expensive summer trying to keep the Yj on the trail...
We have broken:
Front axle
Front Detroit locker
Front steering knuckle
Axle seals front and rear
Unit bearing
Replaced the entire steering with 1 ton stuff
Brake lines
There is over $2000 worth of parts listed here...I do the labor....MAN' O' MAN

If karma is real...
I earned the right to bash the shiit out of my rig, and still drive it home

HOPEFULLY

We also made a decision to ease off and start going round crap we would normally go over..to save the junk the beating... It is working so far as it is not breaking now...(knock on wood)

I'd love to have a CD as well. I was driving the crap brown stock Toyota 4Runner

I am going to put a video together and would like all the pictures I can get. Let me know if you need some $ for postage or maybe EEROCK (my little brother) can get them from you.

Thanks again and it was nice running with you on the trail.
