New TJ owner in Bailey.

Hi All,

I just bought a '98 Gunmetal Pearlcoat TJ with only 69k miles (had to have a gunmetal or steel blue) . This is my first Jeep and I am very excited to have it. It is a 4.0 and manual too also required. I am thankful for this forum and happy to join the Jeep community. Check it out!

Good looking rig. You're not too far from me; we'll have to hook up and go ride sometime.

Depending on weather and how the wife feels tomorrow (root canal) we are pondering going over to the Gulches to check them out.
Let me know if anyone wants to tag along...

Took a ride down Cedar Mtn rd to Hackett Gulch, and went down the gulch as far as Hackett Rock.
Crawled right up the rock no prob, but it looked pretty rocky past that, so we turned around and headed back out.

I'm sure I can go on up, but the wife already didn't care for the first part and we didn't have anyone else along to spot or lend moral support.

Nice trail tho! Discovered the front axle will droop far enough to unseat the spring; glad I have IRO spring retainers on it! No worried but decided to zip tie the isolator to the spring just in case!

Will have to head back over there with some others Jeeps one of these days and explore. Tons of trails and nice views.

Thanks! I am headed back to work in Africa so won't be playing until Mid-Nov.
