New Hi Lift Mount

Well, I have been struggling with finding a good location for my Hi Lift.

I recycled my hi lift bumper mounts which I trashed on Boulder Carnage.

I found this tool box, witch fits nicely in the back of my jeep, at Wally World for $45. It is a Rubbermaid Box that is 44" wide, I will be using the box for my tools and recovery gear.

It will be mounted tonight utilizing my rear seat brackets.

Does the high lift fit left to right with the hard top on? Nice find on the tool box

I will know in a few minutes for sure. The jack is only 48" which gives it a 2" overhang on each side of the box and there is a good 8-10" of room on each side with the top on.

Any worry about the weight of the hi lift making it a PITA to get into the box?

It really isn't to bad, the trick is that you use the hi lift as a handle to open the box. The downside I found is that weight of the jack would eventually rip the hinges off the box from excessive opening and closing.

I have temporarily rigged a strap to my roll bar to hold the weight of the jack when the lid is open. I am going to make some straps that mount inside the box in due time.

Ryan, I dig that box. If you need in the box you just need to unscrew those wingnuts to get the jack off (LOL) right?

I need to ghetto fab some type of holder for my co2 tank. I got the powertank accessories on Friday (thanks Rayn--Pullme for the link it).
