my name is tony, i live in rocky ford co. i would like to join a jeep club. at this time i dont own a jeep. but i have been looking for one to buid, so i can use it mostly for trails and hunting vechical. i just cant decide a cj7 or cherokee. any help would be appreciated. their is 5 in my family.

Welcome, and my personal preference would be the XJ Cherokee between the two you posted. The newest CJ7 would be 26 years old, runs a wheezing carb'd I-6 engine, and has fairly stiff leaf springs. The oldest XJ is 25 years old, but the first few years are definitely avoidable. You can pick up a late-model XJ and run rampant with mods but it's going to be a great platform to start with.

If "their is 5 in my family" means you are looking for a vehicle to haul five people, the XJ will fit five as long as they aren't too big.

Agreed. Packing in 5 people and gear is going to be virtually impossible in a CJ. That's the main reason I went with a bigger Jeep.

I use a trailer for camping with my wrangler, 5 is easy in my TJ

is their a certain year i should stick to. i found a 1993 cherokee country stock, 153k miles and 2475,00 dollars. would this be good enough, the body and interior are in good shape. im going to put it on a trailer and pull it behind my truck and lance camper.
