New to the boards!

Hey everyone! Yes, the title explains it all. I have posted a little here and there but generally I'm new to the jeep forum. I have had my 97 TJ for about 6 months now and i'm hooked! I have to thank Colorado 5.9 for directing me to the colorado board... I guess I didn't explore all the forum had to offer. Anywayz, I'm just glad there is a section for our state to talk about the trails. None of my other friends have jeeps so its hard getting them excited about off-roading when they drive little cars and can't come.

I look forward to wheelin with you guys!!

Travis

Tj

I bought the jeep with a few things done here and there. The guy I bought it from was selling it for his son and couldn't tell me exactly what was done/ specific brand names of parts used... Since I've owned it though I had to buy new tires. Xterrain 35x15x10.5, its has the D44 rear end and has been re-geared...(not sure exactly the gear ratio, it doesn't have the nice lil metal tab) I would however like to re-gear it again to 4.88's cause 5th gear on the highway isn't helpfull. RS9000 shocks, and a good size lift... again not sure exactly the height or who makes it.

I just recently got rid of the crappy rear bumper that was on it and installed the Warn rear with tire carrier (pain in the butt!!)

As for future mods, I'm looking into the RE long arm suspension, and hopefully the big brake upgrade up front and the disc upgrade for the rear.

Thanks again guys for the warm welcome! I'll try to take some pics and post my lil jeep

Yea, I just recently got into Jeeps but I have been working on DSM's for the past 6 years. My other toy is my 97 GSX but I'm selling it since I just started back at school again for another degree. That and its way to expensive to fund 2 toys right now. With the DSM moto: Dont Start Modding, cause they like to break and Jeeps: Just Empty Every Pocket... Its hard to keep em both up and pay for school.

I have loved working on DSM's and loved the speed but I have grown out of that phase and Off-roading is something I can enjoy and not about my driving record

Welcome!

I'm a sports car nut/off road enthusiast myself. Looks like you have a pretty capable rig, watch the boards for trail runs to be posted!
