Moab March 18-20th

I had thoughts about going to Moab this weekend just as a quick trip. leave Friday the 18th after work, camp somewhere to keep it cheap & fun, run some trails (2, maybe 3 if they're short) on Saturday, come home Sunday. I had 2 others that may be interested, so I thought I'd see if I could get more.

CAVEAT: EJS starts that saturday, the 19th!

I don't really see this a huge deal since it's the very beginning of EJS, there's not as many people there yet. and the trails they're running on Saturday is mostly confined to Fins & Hells...so if we go pretty much anywhere else, we'd be devoid of long lines, probably. but still, there's a chance that camping will be scarce/harder to find & there might be more people around because of it.

we can talk about trails once we get an idea of who's going. so far, it's me and two others, all 3 of us are on 35s and capable drivers. not that I want to deter anyone, but if you're thinking of doing the 2-3 rated trails (or 8+ for that matter), we just might not get to wheel as a big group. we can still travel and camp together though.

anyways...if anyone is interested post up.

J.

Any luck on the camping area? I've been considering going now as well.

I'm actually thinking about just heading up Gemini Bridges road when I get there and finding a campsite backcountry. no cost, just gotta find an available spot. there are numerous campgrounds on the BLM that are free and first-come-first-serve. road 313 has 3 or 4, Gemini has 6, 279 has some too:

Thanks! I was just looking at BLM sites online last night. Good places to boondock with the truck camper.
