Miller Rock - 10/14/06

Well the low 70's & sunshine that was forcasted was really mid 50's and overcast

Not a hard trail, great trail for a really lightly modded Jeep or a challenging trail on some spots for a stock Jeep...I got the idea because my dad goes up there fairly frequently with a friend of his in a CJ-5.

Lots of poser places throughout the trail so I didn't really care for it

TC Skid:

During a couple of the spurs the trails were marked "Dead Ends" but they kept going on forever but kept getting narrower and narrower so I had to turn around - Mike will be returning on his dirt bike to explore them for me...

Flexing...

Then I pulled 3 ft forward and flexed the other wheels

Why 32's are a "good size" for a WJ

Throughout the trail there were many fallen tree's, most of which we just moved to the side. This one I thought I might be able to crush. I made it up, and over, and down, and...uh oh

Stupid crossmembers

So out with my hatchet to take case of it...half way through:

Then I was chopping away and all of a sudden I pulled up and only had half the hatchet in my hand...other half was still in the log:

Gerbed failed me:{ Luckily REI will be taking it back for a refund.
The hatchet failed because in the handle of it, there is a saw, so we just sawed through the rest:

Another pose... God these are getting old.

Once on Miller Rock itself, looking West, started to rain right after this and briefly snow:

Then the rest of the trail is pretty easy and you just finish out a Christian Environment Mountain Camp thingy...

It is on www.traildamage.com but basically head North out of Nederland on HW72. Just after you pass Jamestown and just before you hit HW7, take a right on a dirt road which leads through the tiny tiny town of Rolland - following the road for ~2 miles and then a right through peoples backyards and wala...
