Coming from someone who had to evacuate his brother from the Lower North Fork Fire, I am okay with the ban. Luckily my brother's house still stands, but the fire conditions right now are pretty insane.

It only takes one idiot to ruin many families' lives. And unfortunately, bans are put in place to prevent the idiots from being idiots, and those that actually get affected by the ban (many of us here in JF) are the ones who have to suffer due to the ban. This is a fact of our society.

Yea you are right. As dry and windy as it is the danger is EXTREME and especially in a place like Left Hand things can go sour in a flash. There's so many people there most of the time and a good number of them don't have the sense that God gave a goose or they just don't care. Better safe than sorry.

Bummer. I was just up there last Friday. I guess we need some rain (a lot of rain).

Big Momma was good but the Squeeze is now filled in to the right side on the uphill direction. You can still climb to the left but nothing like it was last year (my first time up was last year).

Fireman Hill was ok too. Nothing fancy, just a nice trek.

I'm planning on exploring the trails around Moffat Tunnel late Saturday morning. I'll be heading out from Broomfield around 10:30. Send me a PM if you want to join.

And for the record, I'm probably judging you for your bad grammar or spelling.

smcutter I bet most trails up there are closed due to snow still.

LHC is back open AFAIK.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case, but a buddy who does ski patrol at Eldora told me there shouldn't be any snow on the south-facing trails. I'll let y'all know how it looks.

I promised I'd let y'all know how it looks. You can get up about 6 miles on Rollins Pass Rd / County Road 117 with any stock Jeep. There was even a Honda CR-V that made it most of the way. But right around mile 6, you hit snow:

My estimate is that it will be smooth sailing in no more than 2 weeks.
