ask RyanZJ about that trail. he ran it with me my first time. he is a zj guy so he would probably know if your rig could handle it. i think it wouldnt be an issue. the only spot i see you having trouble is the spur at the top of MSV that leads to the big water crossing and coney.

plus the guy i am running it with has a pathy with a 2" BB and 30 bfg at's...

K - you'll be fine, just use extreme discretion at the water crossing on Coney

Me thinks I'm staying home. I need to do a tune up on the Jeep...spark plugs, wires, oil, etc...

As long as you have some armor you'll be fine. I was at that height when I ran that trail with Ben and I was on my sliders a lot through the spur that he's talking about. A spotter probably would have helped out some, too.

I will be camping near Empire and plan on running Wheeler Lake with the Rock Frogs on Saturday. Sunday is still up in the air, for now.

Ok... so my jeep is packed with my gear, I have a full tank of gas, my lockers are working flawlessly, and I have paid $50 to reserve my spot in the private trail runs in Moab this weekend..... but.....

I have traveled to 5 states in 5 days, been in every time zone in the continental US since Monday, flown on 6 flights in the last 7 days, and only got 3 hours of sleep last night. I'm thinking about ditching the trip. I also have a pretty big presentation to give on Tuesday, which I haven't even started yet. Am I being a little biatch?

I still want to get the jeep dirty though. I would like something challenging. Anyone up for a moderately difficult run?

A few to consider:

Sidewinder
Grizzly Lake- get some fishing in
Iron Chest
Holy Cross
Minesweeper

I think all are with in a 2 1/2 hour drive. Sunday maybe??? Any takers?

Any thoughts?

Later,

Don

I'm up for any of those Jay. Not sure if you want to bump up Grizzly, or if you want to pick something else. It would be nice to fish and relax though...how's the camping up there?

Hey Josh-

Here were my thoughts- We could either drive 2 1/2 hours SW and do Minesweeper, or 2 1/2 hours NW and do Sidewinder, or drive 50 minutes and do Spring Creek.

Minesweeper and Sidewinder will definitely max out our rigs. Sidewinder is rated number 10 on the Colorado 10 hardest trails, but it is only for the first 300 yards or so. Recommended minimum is 33"s and locked f/r.

Sidewinder is only a mile long, but man made and designed to flex you out.

And you all about Spring Creek

Or Grizzly.

I was thinking tomorrow morning.

Jay- I'm all for any of those, except for two things. I don't know if you have to work Monday or not, so it will definately be a one day thing for me. Stupid work. The other thing is on Minesweeper or Sidewinder. I'm totally down to do those trails, but maybe with at least one or two more rigs? Neither one looked SUPER bad, but definately tough trails. Just trying to think of worst case stuff, especially since they are kinda far away. Let me know what you think.
