Colorado Trails and Google Earth

Originally, this started out as a small project... I wanted a visual reference of all the trails near me, along with some of the camp sites near the trails. What started out small has turned into a pretty large project.

What I am doing is putting all of the trails into Google Earth, along with the camp sites that are near the trails. I am covering all of Colorado and am using the Charles Wells books, as well as several others, to identify and list, visually, everything in the books. This is not meant to replace the books, rather to offer a visual reference to ease, or assist with, the planning of trail runs/weekend adventures.

Each trail and camp site has information attached to it, and a link to an outside source, for more information. For the camp site, links are provided to reserve the spot or a number offered, to call for more information.

Since I am not trying to claim authoring rights to this information, all copyright information is offered to the original owner of such information.

This is still a project in work and as I find and identify new information, it is added.

Download the Files Here

The above links include all the trails in "Guide to Colorado Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails" 1, "Guide to Northern Colorado Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails" 1, and "4WD Adventures Colorado: How to Explore the Remote Grandeur of Colorado Without Getting Lost" 2.

Probably the easiest way to get the file to you is through e-mail. Send me a PM and I can get the file to you.

It's a .kmz file that is used within Google Earth. Very easy to use. Just launch Google Earth and open the file and it will load. That's it.

I recently became aware my links were dead in my original post. All links updated and are now active.

Sorry for any inconvenience.
