Jim, I know the feeling. I bought a new car(a Toyota, one of those that got recalled 4 times for a racing gas pedal, my luck to buy my 1st new EVER and is is recalled 4 times, actually 5, one for brakes and 4 for the gas pedal) My new car is a nice car, but it is also costing me all my "extra" money. That is the money I used to use on the heep.
I can not break the Jeep now and afford the fix. I no longer am going to Holy Cross or Spring creek or going up with the shredder types every weekend. Can not break it and then fix it like I used to.
I have/had the thinking if something broke, upgrade it. That leaves the jeep pretty tough after 10 years of this, but an axle for instance: My rear, a super 88 is no longer made or available, if it breaks I am screwed, can't even go back to stock, way too late and too much modding for that, I doubt my tiny heap can break a super axle, but if it does...BOOM! My front axle, a super 30, 3 bills per axle side, not the 30 bucks a regular axle costs. Again, not gonna break it, but...
And then gas...It likes gas. A lot.
We go up about once a month and Moab once a year now. Even in Moab...we turned down the difficulty.

We'll see how well my timing chain goes, starting tomorrow. I might be up for a trip, haven't run Jenny Creek since Matt's mishap a few years ago.

...and Bridget finally got a job offer! Woohoo! She starts on Monday

Welcome back Don! Long time no see!

Tom, sorry I didn't get back to you last week. We were working on the timing chain all through Sunday.

Ask me why I drive a Jeep and I'll tell to you to see what is beyond the where the road ends.

For today - I guess that means you end up floating for a while until you figure a way out of it.

Holy crap - the flooding is crazy. Hope you all stay high and dry.
