Looks like fun to me. Traildamage.com reports that it's open year round as well.

Left hand is a fun place to go...Can be a lot of trash up there

It also gets really busy so an early start would be best I think. Considering there are TONS of turn offs on the trail anyone know the legal spots to stay on the trail? I only know the main path...

I've never been there, traildamage.com just calls it "one big playground"

It used to be one big playground, most of which was illegal wheeling. The rangers have done a pretty good job of roping off the closed areas, at least on Left Hand. Carnage still has some routes that look legal but really aren't. I don't think I'd be able to tell you which part of that trail is legit and which isn't.

Thats the problem with the area...LHC and Carnage have both been over used and trails made everywhere and the BRD is in the process of selecting one plan (out of 5). Most include closing a lot of the trails. So it is especially important to just wheel on the "real trails" and not the user created ones there.

We can always stick to the main trail...are enough obstacles on there as is. I think LHC is harder then Moody(except the quary)/Slaugherhouse so prepare for a big of damage if you don't have a lift/decent tires.

This is my damage from last time I was up there...very dented muffler/pipes, slightly bent LCA mount and well used skids/sliders. A lot of it could have been avoided if my stupid spoter would have gotten out.

True. Sometimes I almost think that area would be better off being closed. It makes me sick to go up there and see all of the trash and empty bullet casings, and trails everywhere from people doing their own thing.

Maybe we should find someplace else to go...something a little more challenging than the last two runs maybe?

Haha, I didn't quite have Holy Cross in mind. I think I may be lacking 4" of lift and tires for that one, not to mention a pair of lockers and a pair of something else...

I was thinking more along the lines of Spring Creek or something. I don't know if it would be open at that point though.

Well guys, pending it arrives in time, I may have something to install during the install party. I just paid for my 2 inch BB and TC lowering kit. Although it probably won't be here in time as it is coming from PA

I have to work that day anyways, so if it comes in I would be coming down later that afternoon if you guys think you'll still be hard at work.

Alright Eric! You're not wasting any time on the new TJ, I like it.

I don't think my swaybar is going to be here in time because it's coming from PA too, but my wheel spacers will be. I should also have a mounting bracket and adjustable regulator for my 20# CO2 setup by then from FormattFab. I need to figure out where I'm going to mount this thing (right now I'm thinking I'll mount it to my cargo box somehow, but I'm open to other options).

I'm not sure how long I'll be able to stay on Saturday as I'm going to Vail that night...at least long enough to drink a couple beers I'd think.

Well, I remember probably 10 pages back or so when I talked about getting rid of the WJ, Arlo said that if I get a TJ he expects a lift on it asap, so I couldn't let him down!!!

I would like to go wheelin when you guys go. I have been reading the threads about every other day or so. I think spring creek will be snowed in at the top. About once a year we go to st mary glacier and do a snow run. I dont know how much snow is up there but when there is snow it takes about 3-6 hours to winch thru all of the drifts. It can be a good time with alot of snow. Just a thought.
