camp night near MSV

A few here have agreed that an overnight in the Middle St. Vrain area in August might be fun (invloving two trail runs). If we're going to do this, now is the time to plan it so people can get time off work. I did a random search for available camp sites at Peaceful Valley and Camp **** for the middle of August and found that our best bet for advance reservations would be mid-week. Is anyone still interested?

I've camped off of Bunch School road and then wheeled MSV/Coney the next morning. It's the first FS road you come to, on the right, as you're headed through the campground. Why pay for camping or worry about reserving a spot?

I guess the more important question is: who wants to go and what dates? We need time to get time off-work.

Weekend of the 22nd is best for me. I'm in if it's that weekend.

Would we head out Friday or Saturday?

Britton and I might be able to go. He's still out of town, but I'll ask him tonight. (The 21st will be our 22 yr wedding anniversary. Camping would be a fun way to celebrate)!

Looks like that weekend will work for us. Britton said he will probably take the Jeep and dirt bike up there on Thursday the 20th and do some hiking and dirt-biking. I can follow-up on Friday morning in our mini-van (with our 4 yo). He's going to try to grab a camp site for us at Camp D**k or Peaceful Valley. (Why does that name get starred out if you spell it? So 7th grade). It's easier for us to camp at a site with a few conveniences when we take the little one. If the rest of you want to camp elsewhere, that's cool - I'm sure we'll still hook up for the evening festivities and in the morning for breakfast . Now I just need to ask for the day off (shouldn't be a problem). Everyone please confirm when it is definite for you.

I don't know about Friday morning, but I can most likely do afternoon evening time on Friday, or early Sat. I'm off Sat, Sunday, and Monday that weekend.

We're open for Saturday and Sunday for sure at this point. I still have to see if I can get the Friday off - But Britton is off Thursday - Sunday. With the the two vehichles + bike, we'll be able to figure it all out. He just may get there first and the mini-van isn't going much further than the camp ground!!! (It's a great pack-mule though)!

I'll be honest... I don't want to run anything as narrow as the plane crash run... (because of the scratching-of-the-paint UUUUGHHHH)! It's worse than I originally thought). What are our options?

This side note from Britton: - Is the weekend of the 29th better for anyone? Either weekend will work for us. but he like the last one better.

Also - since he will be going up there a day or so earlier than us, post up if you want him to try to grab a camp site for you.

Matt - thanks for the offer of the buffer. I think I might just buy one since this "Jeep thing" is so darned addicting - I'll need one anyways!

Ha Ha! Tell me what you have and how much you want! And - uhhhh - yes I've seen your Jeep, and there is nothing wrong with it that can't be fixed with a little "red-rock crystal paint" (I'm not color-biased at all)!!!

Either weekend works for us - Fletcher??? What's it look like for you?

Neal - Can you go? Anyone else??? We're still committed to the third weekend unless everybody wants to change it.
