Looks great Ryan - how did you trim up front for the 35's ? I still haven't gotten mine right yet as I rub on the inner part of the wheel well

Brian I wouldn't run my 33's unless it were mostly on the trail...I may have, uhm, neglected them towards the end of their life and have some bad wear patterns on them. If you're interested I'll sell them for pretty cheap though. 4 of the 33's are mounted & balanced and have similar tread depths and still totally worth while for 4-wheeling. The 5th is unmounted and what I would consider completely unused (although I suspect it has a few hundred miles on it). 4" BS, 16x7 Crager Soft 8's (4 rims) + TrXus MT's (4 tires used - 1 new(ish))...let me know.

Well it may take me a bit longer to get to a height wear I can use them than originally planned. Looking at CJ5s as we speak and hope to have one of those by September. Trying to move back to Colorado in January/February so funds will probably be tight for a little while. Maybe if I get back and you still have them, we can work something out. Thanks though Ryan, might have to try to hit the trails with you guys before I head back.

Ill second that, Im at 4" backspacing right now with the "Moabs" im running off a Rubicon TJ (5" backspacing) and the 1" spacers i used to change the bolt pattern. It looked a little goofy with smaller tires but with 35"s on there it looks sick

Someone asked me about my build thread, so I dug it back up and realized I never posted the final pics of my Jeep from the trim job:

That was done in May '09. Between then and now, it has come off a bit in places. My prep was poor (I didn't sand it very well) so I am due to recoat it.

Also squeezed the biggest muffler I could find (happened to be the smallest one out there) to fit here:

Welding on top, blind, is no fun.

well im glad i was able to have you dig it up (apollo if you read this sorry man, went with similar to arlos's. your jeep is still sick though).

anyway sick jeep man. hopefully mine is just as sweet when done. i ordered alot of similar parts your running. i have a question about your drive shaft. although i have the V8. you had to replace the driveshaft when you went to 6" lift? do you know if its the same deal for the V8, will i have to get a new rear drive shaft? also are you running stock front axles, or aftermarket? and how are they holding up with the bigger tires?

Front axle is stock. I busted one CV joint a few years ago (http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f310/...w-pics-377208/) when I was on 32's in snow - no reason it should have broken then - has been fine since then. I am pretty controlled with the throttle; I like to crawl through stuff slowly w/o wheel spin.

I have replaced my drive shaft too many times to count At 6" I replaced it because I installed a SYE. I was getting a mild vibration under throttle between 35-45 or so IIRC. I couldn't get my angles to stay happy so I installed a SYE and the problem went away. 6" is borderline for needing one, I suggest trying without one and then only if you need to, install one.

Do you run into issues with emissions since your exhaust is dumping in front of the axle? Mine does pretty much the same thing, and the emissions monkeys keep saying that they can't (read: won't) test it because it doesn't exit to the outside of the vehicle.

Other than that, looks great man! Wish I could go wheel again with ya...gonna be a while 'til I'm back on the road.

I think about 2/3's the way up the cladding:

Not offhand, but I can measure if you want when I get home

Yep, I put on some flex piping (weld it on, that is fun ) and exit it out the side, then an hour later I cut it off. Rinse and repeat every 2 years

How come you can't go wheeling?!?

ok so you went through a couple drive shafts with 6". but the sye drive shaft fixed it. and you have not broke any front axles yet with the 35". i dont speed to much either, unless in a deep rut i have to get through. othe rthen that im pretty light on the gas. i also plan on swaping to 4.56 gears to make puttin around places easier and have a bit more torque.
