Do you trust the welding skills of, someone who has never welded before (except for one time on a POS welder)? Your choice.

Went to look at the local welding shop...I want to support them but they are SOOO much more expensive then the internet prices.

$1800+tax vs $1400 for the welder.
$240+tax vs $185 for the helmet

$455 saved by buying online...I just can't pass that up. I'll be renting my gas tank from them at least though and buying the protective clothing. Ordering welder next Thursday (waiting for new CC billing cycle). Need to figure out how I am going to get it delivered since it needs to be unloaded from the back of the truck by someone (freight delivery) - weighs 180lbs. Perhaps I'll try and have it delivered to my work.

Ryan, if that falls through and you want to drive to Golden for it, you can have it delivered here - we've got a forklift and take freight shipments all the time.

Thanks Jim, I'll keep that in mind

Times like this I miss my old Job where we constantly had LARGE items shipping in/out all the time. In fact they ship so much they paid for my shipping when I had an axle shipped there. They just said "don't bother paying us, it is more work to collect the money from you then it is worth"

I might go play up on Switzerland this weekend...Depends on the weather since it is kind of going downhill. I desperately need to get under my Jeep and strip off all of the bolts and inspect the control arm bushings. Getting some nice clunks which are getting worse.

Well my 20lb CO2 tank showed up today.

Just need to get it filled up and some hose/fittings for it. I played around with mounting it a few ways in the back of my Jeep but am not satisfied with anything quite yet. Sounds like a project for my welder - make a custom bracket for it

Painted my diff cover - all ready to go on:

Can also see my new 1/2" drill (well the box)

My camera is having trouble focusing ever since my GF dropped it a couple feet onto the snow while skiing ~1 month ago

It is a 28 mile drive down to Red Comet and 28 miles back. @ 13MPG that is 4.3gallons of gas = $13 of gas per tank fillup.

I'll sell you my MV50 for $100
