2007 2 door JK- gimme some ideas

Ok all. Through the dark clouds that hang over my job, occasionally I get a shimmer of sunlight on my dreary desk. Today is one of those days.

The big guys are letting me mod out another 07 JK, so I need some ideas. This is basically what I have (not actually ours- I stole the pic, but same make/model/color).

They still aren't letting me go quite as wild as I'd like, but oh well. What I was thinking was a 3" lift, 35's, black sim-lock wheels, and possibly some windshield mounted lights (if the budget affords it). Basically, I was told to make it look "more off-road" than the last one. Not a problem on my end- just on theirs (as far as $$ goes). Anyway, how's that sound? Anything you would add or do different? I can't go too wild- I've only got about $2500 to play with, so I'd like to get the most I can for the money.

I'm far from an expert on JKs, but I'm glad you got another chance to do a project like this. That's cool!

I'm the reconditioning manager. Basically, my job is to look at all the trade ins that come in, and based off of their mileage and overall condition, I decide to keep the vehicle for our lot or get rid of it. If I keep it, then I send it into the shop to have it checked out, and we fix what's wrong with it.

However, I'm also the one that likes to do this stuff, and apparently I'm the resident "Jeep Expert" at the dealership (this is according to the people here...not me), so they let me play with the cars and change them to give them more curb apppeal. Today, the manager gave me the keys, and basically said "Do what you do. Make it look more off-roadish (read: more hard-core wheeler) than the last one (read: no chrome). You have this much money to spend."

My goal on this one is to just do a black-out theme. Since it's a black Jeep, I went with black street-locks, 315's, and I will tint the windows to finish it out. I'm still working on the lift...4WP is quoting me pretty high right now, but most of that is because their computer system is screwed up, and not listing half of the JK stuff.

EDIT- For those that don't know, this was the first one I did- just a 2" BB and 295's.

His name is Glen (Buddy) Smith. I can't remember who he works for...starts with a P I think. He doesn't work for a dealership though...kind of does his own thing.

Edit: Just asked...it's Dye Enterprises. But like I said, he kind of does his own thing.

Nah, I was just wondering since we have a bunch of wholesalers that buy our vehicles (the ones we don't keep). I've heard of his place, but don't know him.

But when finished, the JK should look about like this (only a 2 door):

Just a shot in the dark, you know...

That JK is going to look sweet. It's gotta be fun to be able to take a new vehicle, with somebody else's budget, and build it the way you want to!

Yeah, the lights were out of the budget now anyway. I'm trying to see if they'll let me put a couple other things on there, but I doubt it. I can walk over to our parts department and get sliders and a bumper, but not sure if they will go for it.

Sliders would be nice. Can you chop the factory bumper? Is it even chopable? (Is that a word?)

How about a CB? High-lift? Disconnects?

Wow! What kind of tires are on that black 4 door JK?? They look sweet!

No matter what you do, make sure you put a leveling kit on there. Although the black 4 door looks sharp, I hate the rake. It seems to be on the majority of the lifted JK's around town also. They look soooo much better when the front sits level with the rear.

By the way- this is the direction I would go in with a two door JK:

Just a couple teaser cell phone pics. I'm still waiting on the bumper and the rockers, as well as a detail, but here's how it looks so far. I have better pics on my camera, but they'll have to wait until I get home.
