Xj What to do with my junk Jeep?

I was recently given a 1999 Cherokee Sport 4.0 to use as my first car. I thought it was pretty need until I noticed the things that were wrong with it. Exterior has some weird damage; left rear fender by the door has a big dent that is starting to rust, roof and windshield and/or pillars are covered by black silicone with dent/rust damage, roof itself is rusting but does not leak, rear leaf springs are shot, tires are bad, windshield wipers don't work, power steering make whining noise when ever steering wheel is turned, oil is leaking from the valve cover gasket, front passenger door doesn't open from the outside and looks like it was opened with a crowbar at one point, one speaker works but its in the back, and worst of all, it has death wobble at random while at highway speeds. Otherwise it runs and drives just fine.
I would love to restore it and turn it into a cool offroad beater just because its my first car and I love it, but I don't a whole lot of money in the winter. I also thought about scraping the jeep because i'm pretty sure no one would by it for a grand. I'm really leaning towards getting rid of it for something else, but I hope that I can get some advice from people who know bout these things. What do you think I should do?
