I am undecided about Crawl 4 the Cure. Don't get me wrong, I am so pumped. But then I think that it will cost around $500 at least...

$200 entry, $50 dnr, $150 in gas, food, lodging...plus I'm not 18 so I cannot get a room. Can't I just sleep in my Jeep in the park or something? Lol, you may think I'm joking but I am serious.

Let me clear the air here.
1st) DNR sticker is only $38.50 and is good for three years. If you plan on doing ANY trail riding in the State or National forests you will need this sticker. This allows you to legally drive old fire roads throughout MN.

2nd)The entry fee is only $50. The remaining $200 is up to your fund raising skills. Just from family and friends alone I have been able to pop $300 each year.

3rd) Of COURSE you can sleep in your Jeep!!! Although it will cost you $25 which gives you access to the hot showers and a place to pitch a tent or sleep in your Jeep...

and pitch a tent

Seriously, we try to make this as easy as possible.
Dinner is provided 2 of the 3 nights to help with your expenses. Believe me, we all know how expensive our sport is.
Let me know if I've answered all your questions.

later

Well, the $200 is required though right? It just is recommended to go out to relatives and friends to fundraise to help get some back. People around here will not donate unless they are getting something in return...

Burnsville and Savage. Not to be racist, but LOTS of immigrants that are self centered and dont care about anyone else but themselves. I just might be able to get $200 from family members, but around here, i dont know many people except a few neighbors that would even donate a penny...

Well that sucks.
I asked almost everyone I knew. If they could only give 5 bucks I took, it all added up. My co-workers and business associates were all good for a twenty or more and I live and work behind the Ford plant, we're not rich over here by all means.
I sold hot dogs at a yard sale last year and made 80 bucks and met a few hot chicks as well.
Check out MN-Jeep for other ideas.

edit: I asked people I barely knew and while selling hot dogs a few strangers donated 20 each. I sent out e-mails to everyone I could think of asking for money my insurance agent, girl who cuts my hair, people I met on vacations... you name it, I'm not to proud to beg.
My girlfriend's parents are big donors.

Well especially being we are teenagers, teenagers have a bad rep around here. Although I do partially agree, there arent many good teens out there. Any adults probably would not believe you if you just went around asking for money. Even if you told them to visit crawl4thecure.org they wouldnt do it, and just assume you are full of crap.

yeah its pretty much a typical 2008 city. i feel old saying this but...back in the day everything was good and everyone in the neighborhood was friendly. in the summer, everyone was outside just having a good time. all the kids would get together and find some game to play and the adults would all just sit and chat. nobody hated eachother and nobody in the neighborhood ever really locked their doors.

now, we only are only good friends with 6 of our neighbors, in the summer, kids are inside playing video games or watching tv, adults just talk about how much they hate stuff that goes on, other than the people they knew back in the day, not many people are good friends and people lock all their doors, close their windows, take anything valuable inside and hope that nothing gets taken or vandalized over night.

its depressing just thinking about the good old days

i wish the times were still like that

pat - i agree........to some extent

there arent to many advantages to where we live. waaaay to many stupid people around here (not talking about any other jfers) but people just sometimes steal stuff for the hell of it. theyre just so god damn stupid its ****ing ridiculous

16. Grant and I go to High School together. I am friends with lots of different types of kids, and its rediculous the stuff some kids do. They steal stuff just to steal. Even if they don't need it, or maybe they dont even know what it does. If they are bored, they will break/vandalize/steal stuff...it makes me mad because they ruin my rep too.

Hold on now, I'm trying to think how long ago it was when I was 16...
