Anyone been up to the Iron Range OHV area this time of year? I've got the weekend off and no real plans, so I'm looking to get out of town. Thinking I might run up to Jay Cooke on saturday, rent some snowshoes and poke around a bit. Camp there and head up to Gilbert sunday morning. Would it be worth checking out in my bone-stock XJ, or should I think up some other things to do?

i swung through the entrance of the park on saturday and sunday this past weekend... i was up north visiting relatives that live about 10 miles from gilbert... to be honest it doesn't seem like there was that much snow up there... not nearly what i expected, and with this warm weather it will settle a bit.

i don't know how the trails are though, i was in my little cavalier... the jeep stayed home this trip up north...

I havent't checked it out but maybe instead of going to crawl for the cure we could all meet up there some different weekend to help incase of getting stuck and we need pulling.

I stopped in on Friday on my way to Giants Ridge. The Gal there said nobody's been in there for a week or two. I was alone she suggested not to go in alone. Here's some pics from Giants Ridge

1.25 body lift I discoed the sway bar and I locked the front and rear . But it comes stock with 31" MTR's and lockers. I could have gone higher in the last pic but I was dragging my tail pipe I'm 6' tall and the seats were at my chest.I had to climb on my tires to get back in. It was funny watching the "off road" pickups and suvs try after me

Just dropping in to say hello

I'm from Fifty Lakes, wife and I just bought a 95 GC. We have had it for two weeks now, and the Jeep was originally bought for her. Yet today she decided that she likes my Jimmy better. So, I gave her the Jimmy and now the Jeeps mine to mess around with. No big plans for it though. I'm just fixing some minor stuff on it right now. Seems to run and drive just fine, though I haven't got on the skinny pedal yet with it. LOL
The only thing that sucks is last week I bought some Firestone Destination AT's for it. If I had known I was going to keep it just for me I would have bought the Firestone Destination MT's for it! Arrg

For a super gigantic version, click here.

You can pick up a OHV Trail Map Booklet from the DNR.
