I thought I read somewhere Kimball Bottom was closed temporarily to ATV/OHV use.

I could be totally wrong. I've read places to wheel in the area everyday since the day I got mine, so I might have it confused with another place.

Does anyone know of a spot in ND/SD/MN/MB that allows you to wheel without it being an event?

He got back to me. I think it was temporally closed because of the Missouri flooding into the area and there are some killer MudPits in there. It should be good to go by Memorial day weekend and he said the AtV's are already running it.

Awesome! Good to know. I was on Kimball Bottom Rec Area's website last night looking for more information about off-roading there. Is it just mud surfing you can do there? I was looking for something more along the lines of rock crawling to do, but I didn't find any information.

Not any rocks but plenty of Whoop De Doos, Sandy Hills Climbs, Mud Holes if you wish and Large Sand Bars with water to cross.

Thanks for the reminder. I'll be driving through Bismarck that Sunday and told my kids I'd take them to the zoo. Maybe I'll see if I can get down there. Unfortunately I won't be driving the Jeep that weekend.

Anyway In the next few days I am lifting the XJ(fingers crossed)and gonna start lookin into some outings. Also glad to here that you did ok with the flood, I did my share of baggin, and loved the fellowship that came along with it, If we have the same scenario again call me up I'll help ya bag,lol

You know somehow that sand bagging thing just really doesn't sound like fun.

I'll keep an eye open for you. I don't have a forum decal posted on my Jeep anywhere yet. But I'm sure I have the only Rubicon Sahara in Fargo. Maybe even ND. Keep me posted about starting a Jeep club. I know there are some guys over on MN-Jeep.com from the area too. So you might be able to get something started. The biggest problem is that we don't have many trails to get out and ride on.

How much lift are you putting on? I'd volunteer to help you but I am trying to finish my basement and it consumes my every free minute. So I have Jeep repairs of my own that are not getting done. But let me know. Maybe I can still lend a hand.

Buggies and Blues ended up being canceled because of all the damn rain! It rained all the way up from Denver and most of the time up there as well as the drive back. Friday was pretty nice so I pulled the Jeep off the trailer and cruised around for a tad but that was it. Spent most of the time with family and eating at my favorite restaurants.
