Here is the link to the logan range website.
http://www.manhattanwildlifeassociation.com/

its members and immediate family only.membership is $40 a year but you must be an NRA member ~$35 a year. I've been a member for a few years and its definitely worth it. i used to go out to copper city in three forks but even when i had the jeep i couldn't make it out year round due to snow drifts, which is why i started going to logan.

I too am a Subie-Jeep! I drive an 06 Impreza as my DD and have my '97 Grand Cherokee... when it works. I also like the membership at Logan because it keeps the riff raff out... I have only once saw somebody being an idiot at Logan, whereas people up at Hylite are always doing stupid stuff. Plus, with my NFA stuff, I'd rather shoot at a gated range.

Just been doing some simple loops up here in Big Sky, managed to break both my upper rear shock mounts though

I'll be moving back out to Bozeman next week. Glad to see that this section of the forum has gotten a little more active since I was last living in MT about 2.5 years ago.

Search for Magic City 4x4 and for Rimrock 4x4 Inc on Facebook. They are the two 4x4 groups in Billings.

Well, change in plans, ended up trading in my truck for a brand new patriot today. Didn't buy it for a wheelin' jeep , just one to get me to work and all of my other hobbies, but will probably do some light wheeling once the "new" smell is gone. So it will be a few years before i get to build another wheelin' rig ,but at least i have a jeep again.

I like the look of the Patriots (that 34MPG!) and I bet you could build it up a little to do mild logging trails, ect. I had considered getting a Patriot before I got my Wrangler. Congrats on the new purchase!

It may not be a "real jeep" but it will get me within walking distance of anywhere i want to go.First thing i'm going to do is get a more aggressive set of tires on it,i'm thinking cooper at3. Since part of the reason i bought it was for the warranty it will be a little while before i lift it, but a lift is in its future. But as it sits now it has more ground clearance than a trailhawk cherokee so i think i'll be ok.

I will be moving to Bozeman in two weeks, I have been in Boise ID for the past couple years and have been fortunate to be involved with a very active off-roading group, and hope to find the same around Bozeman. Is there a group or section of the forum you guys would recommend?

Thanks

Rob

Hey! Welcome to Bozeman! I'm not a member, but http://bozemanmountaineers.org/ is apparently the local 4x4 club, here.
