thats the thing,i don't know any good places really.i have only really gone mudding and all those places will most likely be dried up by then.i was just trying to get the ball rolling, hoping someone would else would know of a good place.
flathead pass?i've only been to where it first meets the river.
johnson canyon? i've been in there for a few miles but i only left the main road a few times and not very far.
little bear canyon?only been to the gate
jackson creek rd?i was back off of there playing paintball a few years ago but i don't remember it very much,i just remember skinny roads and crossing a creek.
hylite area, moose creek?i've been both places in my subaru didn't see much that would challange a jeep.

Well here's your chance, I'd be willing to travel say 100 miles, nothing extreme as I don't want to tear up something that far away.

Anyone have any ideas? Maybe near Whitehall, 3Forks, anyplace?
Lets put something together, meet new people, and have some fun for a day.

From the looks of my yard and the temps I don't think anything will dry up very soon.

OK Subie-Jeep, I started, the tentative date will be May 17th, , , , Now comes the who, where, and how far.

tizer lakes trail up by jefferson city is a fun trail, it may be alittle snowy in the shade, up at the top but if there was a few rigs going we would be fine im sure. might be alittle much of a drive for the bozeman guys. i'd be down for something like that.

I'd be up for wheeling anytime anywhere really.

The problem is I just took a job down in Wyoming and I'm not sure when I bring my tools down and do oreintation.

It sucks that the FS gates off a lot of the good trails until mid-summer, when they actually are plenty dry way sooner.
There is some good wheeling on the north end of the Bridgers, near Flathead pass? My GF's grandparents own a couple hundred acres up there and I have never seen a gate closed.

I know the commiez frequent Hyalite, so good luck getting a tire off the pavement.
Speaking of Hyalite I went up there in the winter when I had my XJ, and found 2 vehicles stuck. Couldn't yank the burban out, they had 8 people in it. I had them all get out and pile in my Jeep, but had to wait and had some powerjoke pull them out.

I saw my first one yesterday while hiking in Glacier Park. Thankfully it was cold out and she was pretty sluggish. Made for an easy kill.

Score so far this year....Me-1, skeeters-0.

Wish I could join you guys but I must work a little longer before any road trips. Be sure to take lots of pics.

Yes the FS closes alot of roads off early spring... Last weekend i went out springhill. I was traveling alone so i took it easy.

Flathead pass doesnt have as much snow as you would think, but i had to turn around in fear of sliding into the creek at one point.

The access beyond it, Felix canyon was passable, but its not nearly as much fun as flathead... Still found enough to drive up there that it killed an afternoon.

Anyone else in bozeman got out anywhere this spring so far??

I went up flathead yesterday and it was pretty fun. but was unable to make it all the way over because of 1 spot that had about 100 yards of drifted snow. Still a good time though.
