I don't see a MT Jeep Jamboree:

But I would definitely be interested if there were one around here, because I'll most likely stay here over the summer.

Iam deffantly waiting for things to warm up a bit. My wife got me a set of tcase, g tank and steering comp skids for x-mass, I just need to get them painted up so I bolt em on.
Useually the devide ride is in mid July, there should be some registration forms avaibale very soon. this year
Divide Ride is being held in Philipsburg, Montana. For those of you that are in the bozeman and belgrade areas check with Mike's off and/or Renigade they should have some information on things.

Sorry for the confusion. The JJ is actually out of Dayton, Wyoming on August 20-22. It is in the Big Horn Mountains and that is not to far out of Billings. As far as the Divide Ride, it has some of the states best wheeling trails.

Besides JF, is there a main board/forum that Montana wheelers hang out at?

Here is a link to the Montana4x4 site. Links to lots of local forums inside. Not many of these forums get a lot of traffic, especially in winter.
http://www.m4x4a.org/
Hope this helps.

im not sure if any of you hunt much, but i have never hunted in bear country.
when you go out camping, or bow hunting do any of you carry a handgun? or bear spray? i have heard some debate on what works better and usually the bear spray has won the debate. but i figure if i take out bear Spray and a handgun its an even better situation.

well i don't hunt and i never really go into bear country and i don't own bearspray or a handgun but if i had to choose just one i would bring the hand gun.both would be ideal if you had room to carry both but i think a handgun is a little better at detering a P.O.ed animal.sorry im not much help, all i have is an sks so thats what i'd bring .

I'd recommend bear spray. Get the can with a stream instead of a fog, and try not to discharge it into the wind. For comparison, the can I used to carry was rated at 5,000,000 Scoville (sp?) heat units. A police officer friend of mine said that her can of spray was rated at 250,000. You don't want that to drift back on you...

I guess a good questions to ask yourself would be, what would you be more comortable with? If you choice the handgun just learn to use it properly.
