I'll be out for any wheeling this weekend. Gotta entertain my girls before they start school again.

We have also done Flint River with kids in kayaks and moma and I in a canoe. Put in off Little Cove Road and went down to 431...but you can come out a couple places before that for a shorter trip....not bad. There is a small business that runs a trip over that route...they will drop you off and pick you up...also rent kayak/canoe from them.

Bummer man, but you need to take care of those girls. Son and I are still open Saturday (unless he ticks off his momma again between now and then...then he will be lucky school starts next week )

NACK is the place on 72 that rents canoes/kayaks for Flint River trips.

Wanted to use them, but just haven't had time. I have quite a few triathlon friends that have kayaks (for when they support open water swims) that will let us use their kayaks. Just gotta find a weekend.

Next three weekends are taken up by three triathlons.

Keep moving forward. But keep an eye on history, for if you don't, you are doomed to repeat it.

Hampton Cove Kayak Adventures is another close to my house...this is who we used when we did that part of the Flint. Also, canoes are $25 a day from MWR on Redstone and $10 for the trailer...maybe we should do a JF fall kayak/canoe trip close?

Shoot! I go just about every weekend in my fishing kayak. Not sure I will do a fall trip though. Sit-on-top kayaks are not very forgiving to the elements. I do want to float the Flint and fish it sometime soon, before it gets cold again. I know there are some finite trips that take 1,3,6 hr floats depending on where you put in. If we had a couple of vehicles we could split and do a good 3 hour float.

The Elk River empties into the Tennessee River close to Rogersville. There is a good portion of the Elk in Alabama.
