Thanks. I just have him a call and he quoted me $600 for the install. Anyone ever had experience with this guy? This is one job I don't want to have done twice.

Decided to call Rocket City Offroad for the hell of it. They also quoted me $600 for the install.

I'm debating doing it myself this winter. Only cost will be time and tools...If you wanna give it a shot with me, we could split the cost of tools. I figure after four axles, one of us should have it figured out pretty well haha.

I was really close to getting all the tools to do it myself...then I got transferred out of state for work. So now I'm never home to get anything done. Then I thought, "What am I going to do with $200-300 worth of tools I only use once or twice?". I certainly don't have time to work on other peoples rigs. I just figured about half of what I'm paying for someone else to do it is the tools I would have bought.

I know enough about patterns and clearances to check the guys work after he's done, so I think it'll be alright.

If i were to do it again, I'd just bite the bullet and have RCO do it. Yes its pricey, but ti would be done in a day or two. I just lucked out and had a friend do my front when i got axles from him, and then my rear came with 4.88s. And let me tell you, its worth every penny. The lockers are nice too!

Anyone know if the guy at Brakes Plus has a welder? I want to have the tubes welded whenever I have the gears put in.

Or if anyone here as a welder and will be around this weekend? I got 110 and 220 volt hook ups in the garage. I just need a few stitch welds on each side of the axle.

But then again, if I go with the Artec truss I won't need to weld the tubes to the center.

I'm sure your team will be okay if you went wheeling and cheered from the driver seat as you listened to the game while doing something crazy.

Does anybody have a trailer I could perhaps borrow the last two weeks of October? I have a couple of wheeling trips possible, but I do not want to drive a 4cyl TJ on 33's to north east Kentucky. UGH! I could flat tow it or use one of those UHaul trailers, but they want WAY too much for a 2 week stretch!

Keep moving forward. But keep an eye on history, for if you don't, you are doomed to repeat it.
