Took the doors off. Now I'm even more recognizable. Especially since I still have the hard top on. Looks kinda funny.

As far as the lift goes, I feel like a minimal lift is more fun, esp on an older Jeep.
Don't get me wrong: I would much rather do the work myself. Hell, with the help of a few local Jeepers, I installed my RC BB, Daystar BL, and did the engine swap in my basic two-car garage. And I am a shade-tree mechanic, at best. Nothing like turning wrenches on your vehicle, to learn how everything works. But, for those folks that can't do the work themselves, for whatever reasons, RCO is a good place to go to get work done/parts. My .02.

Nice! I had the Hard Top Freedom panels out for the last two days. Actually got a little sun on my skin...........
Doors have to wait until it gets a bit warmer. As does the soft top.
Although, if it doesn't rain Saturday, it might be nice enough weather to go wheeling minus doors and top........ Now ya got me thinking..........

X2. If I have ever modified my past vehicles, I have always done it myself, aside from the various things like balancing tires, alignments, etc. Basically, if it can done with tools from Sears or the likes, I'm gonna do it myself.

On a side note, caught two flat tires in 24 hours in the jeep. Now I'm stuck thinking, I'm going to lift it and get new tires at some point, so is now the time? I was hoping to drive it stock for a while before going all out on it so I could get that confidence knowing it won't break down on me.

So, replace the two tires, drive it a while, and wait longer for a lift or trust it and order the parts?

If you aren't having any issues with the driveability of it, I say go ahead and get the lift/tires. Why waste money on two tires, then turn around and buy 4 (or 5) new tires? Unless you just want to throw some cheap, used tires on there until you feel comfortable with the vehicle.
Worst case scenario, you can still use the lift and tires on another Jeep, if the current one gives up the ghost.

Wait!? It's 80* out there man! Granted I did put the doors back on because of the torrential rain last night.

Yeah, the 80* is good in the afternoon, but that early morning 50* drive to work is what gets me............
That being said, I was this close to putting the soft top on yesterday evening, right before the storm came through. Had some pea-sized hail with the rain and wind. Soft top probably woulda been fine, but I was kinda glad I left the hard top on.

I want to say I passed you last night on the way to get food. I was going down University towards Research and might have saw you turning there at JetPep over on the Parkway side of town. It was definitely a TJ with no doors and a hard top. I remember cause I looked in the rear view and thought...no doors and a hard top, thats odd.

And yea, the storms last night were crazy. I started hearing hail and whipped it under a gas station to try and save the WK.

Try driving topless and doorless in 17* weather. That was cold.

I don't think that was me. But I do turn at a JetPep everyday at 12:30 on Mountain Gap road.

Had a good time at Hawk Pride this weekend. Rode for several hours on Saturday, and only saw 1/2-3/4 of the trails. Similar to the other parks in the area, except they have more trails that are marked for ATV's only (and that some people lead a bunch of Jeeps down by mistake, not knowing they were ATV trails ). Plenty of trails for Jeeps/trucks, though. Some off-camber stuff that pitches you sideways pretty good. Also, more water there than Mountainside or Morris Mountain. Which made it go from dusty to muddy real quick. They also have a good sized Motocross track, for the dirt-bikers out there.

I would recommend Hawk Pride, and plan on going back again soon.

And, I took exactly zero pix on the ride, so I have none to share.

^Nice, good to see you today BigBlue...I just threw on the rampage soft top today. I can't wait to be driving my jeep again. I am currently waiting on my Currectlync HD to come in. Should be here sometime this week if anyone wanna come over and shoot the breeze. I also ordered a bunch of other stuff that my wife wasn't too excited about lol. Also, if anyone does wanna come over and help, I need to borrow a torch to loosen up some torx bits on my half doors I bought so that they will line up with my door jams correctly.
