Welcome to the panhandle! Unless your military, make sure you go to Jackson guard and get a res. pass! If not they could suspend your ability to get one for a yr! See you out there

Its the best 12$ and what-not-to-do-with-unexploded-ordnance video you'll ever sit through. Gets you one fiscal year (starts/end in October) of places to ride, the area is huge.

Daily updated map with closures is here http://jg.eglinforcesupport.com/# Check it before you head out for the day. Do not get caught with out a pass, its not pretty, the MPs don't screw around. IIRC everyone over 14yrs old needs a pass.

......or for 8 more bucks, get the whole year and fishing included! (still need a regular fishing license if you leave your County though.......and NO CAST NETS! don't even have it in the rig)

I'm pretty sure even the military guys have to have a recreation pass. I have been known to be wrong though.

Rates could change........but camping is a $5 permit for multiple days and people.

I believe you are correct. When I was stationed at Eglin AFB, living in Crestview I had a pass. But that was a long time ago.

This is true, my cousin is station here and while talking about going out (he has a jk) he mentioned his pass was expired. So for the record, yes, everyone needs a pass........or orders from your commander.

You have got to get off work on a weekend. Me and another bud went out today. He swamped his rig and came real close to losing the motor. After I pulled him out and multiple attempts at cranking and water draining out the tailpipe, it finally cranked and ran. I don't believe he got any water on top of the cylinders when he stalled it with the tailpipe under water. I believe it sucked the water up into his muffler though. I'm pretty sure he's gonna lose the starter though, so that's first on his list.

I lost my starter after some deep water crossing, luckily it went out in a parking lot and not on the trail. I got a new one from Autozone, 2 bolts a ground wire and a plug into the wire hire harness. It's stronger than the old one, and there's no vent holes for water to get into, like on my stock one.
