Unhappy Great night turned south near Tampa, Florida..

I'm in a bind. As the story goes, I let my friend drive (mistake numero uno, and he took it off the trail (against my repeated suggestions to not do so) and got it stuck. So, as of now, my Jeep sits about 2 miles back in some trails in what people around there call "HighPoint Hills." It's an old land mine backfilled with dirt and sand with a lot of hills and whatnot. Apparently once you exit that and go out onto the actual trails, it's private property. Awesome. My front left tire has a huge gash in it (flat, obviously), and my front drive shaft is FUBAR. I'm sitting about 200 feet off the nearest trail in a clearing with backfill dirt. The dirt is really soft. The Jeep made 6-8" tracks as it went out there. So not only am I stuck, but I'm going to have to do some field repair.

So my question is, would anyone who lives in that vicinity be willing to help pull me out? I'll pay for your gas, and plus if you've never been out there, it's a great place to go wheeling so you get to find out where that is.. I'm in the military and work swing shift at Macdill AFB working on planes, so my hours are usually from 2:30p to around 11p-12:30a depending on how much work the previous shift left for us to do... This also means that if you've been interested in planes and the military, as a favor, I can get you out on the flightline to look at the planes up close if you can help me out. It would really be great if someone could help me out. I'm nervous leaving my car out there in the woods.

All that said, thanks for reading this and if you think you can help me out in any way, don't hesitate to email me or call or text! Thank you!!

I'm not familiar with Highpoint Hills, where's it located? Down by Macdill?

Actually, it's about 30 miles north of MacDill, by New Port Richey.

Thanks man. And honestly, I'm mad but not overly so. He said he would pay for my tire and help out with the cost of repairs. He's been helpful so far. He's the best friend I got here so far (only been stationed 5 months) so we'll see if he's really best friend material. I miss my buds from back home..

I do have a spare. They put it on. They're driving it back right now, so I'm assuming the axle's at least drivable for now. The front drive shaft is toast, though.

I appreciate it man. Had I seen this sooner I would have gotten ya out there to help them. One of my sergeants and a fellow airman from the previous shift at work took his YJ out there with his 9500 pound winch and got me out. I do appreciate the offer though.

From now on, I'm definitely not going to be too inclined to ride by myself. It'd be awesome to go riding with fellow Jeepers

Damage...:
-blown tire
-front driveshaft toasted
-clutch is near done
-snorkel fell off
-my wallet is going to be flat for many moons....

Oh well, this was needed, as I see it. Some parts needing replacement will get replaced.

And thanks to the person who texted me with the offer to help

Good to hear you at least got it out. Bummer about the driveshaft and clutch... just an excuse to upgrade, now!
