drive belt

Does anybody have issues with their drive belt. I have a 2.5l with v belts. The front drive belt to a/c keeps far apart on me. The damn thing is tight as it can be. Any tighter and it would be water sealed air tight. I have no clue but the ribs on the v belt get torn off in different sots on the belt. The pulleys looked okay to me. What the problem is.
