Wheeling in north GA maybe Rocky Flats or Cartersville?

Hey guys found some old threads where guys were looking for a place to wheel. I too am looking bu tI found the website to the north GA OHV trails and I've been to the rock creek one but never to Rocky Flats or any of those closer to the Chatsworth/Dalton area. I also read about some powerlines around Cartersville? Anybody got some info/directions to these? I probably wont be able to wheel my XJ for a little while til I fix the transfer case linkage but I want to go and I'll bring my Bronco. I've got a custom front bumper w/ D-rings and tow straps and come a long so maybe we can get you out. But let me know if anyone is wanting to go. Pick a date and time. Lets make it a decent shin-dig!

I'm in Dalton, GA about 75 miles north of ATL and 20 miles south of Chattanooga.

Anyone close by give me a shout.

Thanks, Chase.

Don't go to the powerlines in Cartersville, you could get your Jeep impounded. Try out Mt. Aetna in Chattanooga. Lots of fun and probaly closer for you.

How is it up there? I've heard about it I think. The source said it was rough. Didn't hear too many details. Is it free?

I'm up to join you. The only problem is that I am running a pretty much stock YJ for alittle while as funds grow. My girlfriend goes to Berry in Rome and her sister lives in Dalton, so we are up that way alot. When are you thinking?

Hey guys. There are a couple good places around chattanooga. I live in Soddy Daisy and usually make the drive to Aetna every weekend. It's a great place with moderate to insane obstacles. The Wall and Horsepower hill are where you will find the big buggies but I run an XJ with a 4.5" RC lift and 33's and usually wheel w/ a stock xj and we do fine. Another good place is Big Fork on Suck Creek mountain and Signal Mountain. Im always up to wheel so just PM me or something and we'll make a day of it

Nah it's not too bad. I see people in stockers all the time. From Isuzu Rodeos to Bronco IIs. There are all sorts of vehicles there. In fact, we are heading up tomorrow and meeting at the Waffle House off of Brown's Ferry Rd at 11 if you would like to join us. We have 6 trucks going now. Sorry for the short notice.

Yeah I'm up for trying out that Aetna place. The local Line-x guys took the shop rigs up there few weeks back. They said it was rough but I reckon with a 8" LA lift and 38s anywhere thats a challenge is rough lol. but yeah I'll get some local guys together and maybe check it out up there. We need to go before it gets too cold. I hate getting stuck and having to tromp though mud in 30 degree weather lol.
I'll probably have a few F150s and maybe another jeep or 2 to go.

Is Aetna mostly mudding or is it a combo? If so how deep of holes and that stuff? My Bronco is my DD the only reason I'm asking lol.

So anyone else up for Aetna? Where's a good place to meet? Just say the word lets try to get several people from the area to meet up and go. We'll get some good pics and show off the Dixie boys' rigs. Yee haw!

Aetna is a combination of mud and rocky hills. The deep holes there have bypasses and then the small ones are easily gone through. There are a couple gas stations and fast food places right off the interstate that ya'll can meet at.

Rocky Flats is just a FS road. Winds around and goes thru some nice woods. Good for stock or just out for a scenic ride.

River Rock Orv is having an open run on Nov 9-11... $45 per vehicle/driver and 10 bucks per passanger.. This place is one of the best Private parks around.
Lots of jeeps and 4x4s there too as well. Lots of Clubs to check out as well.

GEEK!
