Wanting to start a club in Columbus, GA

Hey everyone, I'm wanting to start up a Jeep 'club' in Columbus, GA and the surrounding area. I don't really know of any clubs of this type in the Columbus/ Ft. Benning area, but I was hoping for a "meet and greet" with anyone who is interested. I was hoping for a less formal club, but more like a group of folks who enjoy wheeling their rigs and would like to meet other people with similar interests. If anyone is interested, let me know.

Also, if anyone has any ideas about how to get the word out around town, that would be appreciated. Thanks!

My wheeling buddy and I have talked about this before. I even posted a thread on the topic, but I didn't pull the trigger. We both would be interested. Count us in.

I do my local wheeling on the installation as of right now. There is Morris Mountain ORV on the Eastern edge of the Talledaga National Forest, which is my favorite place to go. There is a park that just opened in Phenix City, but I think all the trails are for ATVs. They may have a mud pit for trucks/Jeeps.

There's an offroad park in Auburn, but I don't know of anyone who has been there to scope it out. Looks pretty cool from the website though.

The Great American Park LLC

Other than that, I think most of the places to wheel are at least an hour or so outside of Columbus.

I was thinking about just meeting up with everyone at some place around town, like a restaurant, and exchanging contact info. and going from there. Any suggestions?

sounds good to me. I'd suggest picking a date a week or so out to allow time to spread the word.
