I have been on a couple trips where having a locker ment I was able to crawl over things. The guys without had to spin and fight over the same stuff. With the ARB I wheel with them open 90% of the time which makes it easy to turn. Then when I hit something worth while, I lock em.

And if you can save up a little more for it I would go with the super kit that comes with the ARB and better axle shafts.

The d44a is a "weaker" diff that doesnt have a lot of upgrade support... Hence the need to upgrade whole unit... i could go with a super 35 or just go with the 8.8 and have a good solid rear axle

I've always heard that the d44 was the stronger axle of the the two.

I was reading that the D 44a is a strong axle it just needs to have braces and supports welded on to it as well as a diff skid.
