Long Time Lurker

Just wanted to say hello. I'm a long time lurker and wanted to introduce myself and ask a few questions. I've always been a big fan of jeeps, but never owned one. I'm looking for a local place where I can learn about jeeps so that one day I can work on my own. Do you know of anything else that could be helpful to learn about jeeps? Where should I start looking? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I asked this question quite a while back and ended up getting derailed by school. Now that I've graduated, I would really like to do this.

I recommend contacting some local clubs. It may be the best way to learn. You can meet new folks, talk about their rides and even go riding. There are a number in Georgia and it really just depends on what's best for you.

I would also start looking for a jeep in craigslist and other ads. Get a feel for the prices and conditions and when you find one go for it and start learning.

X2 on what Louie stated. Depending on where you live, meet up with a jeep owner and hang with them when they wrench on their jeep.
Just a suggestion
