Alright guys and gals, I need your help. On March 13 two Virgina Deputy Sheriffs responded to a trespass call. What they were not aware of was the sniper waiting in ambush with a .223 rile, scoped, and on a bipod. He opened fire on them critically wounding them. When Officer Shane Charles put in the officer down call the next to Deputy's that arrived to help them, were both shot and killed. Shane Charles was hit in the spinal cord and is currently paralyzed from the waist down. He was transfered here from VA to the Shepard Clinic. He and his family are from a small coal mining town with little resources. They are humble people and have not asked for anything. They are the type of people who wont ask because the feel there are others who need it more. That however is far from the truth. If any of you guys know of any organizations that can help it would be appreciated. Shane's twin sister, who refuses to leave his side, has a three old son that could use some activities to keep him busy. Shane's interests are not yet completely known. He is in to patch collecting though. Mel and I are taking some coloring books and DVDs up Saturday after the meeting along with a couple of gift cards for food. The family is currently staying in free housing from the Clinic, but that only last for thirty days. Emails that I have received suggested gift cards and gas cards to help out the family. If you guys have any ideas or suggestions, they would be much appreciated. If you want to help that means even more to a family who has given there lives for everyone else.
To help this family out we're selling raffles to win cool stuff, hilift jacks, winch, gift certificates etc.
Heres a quick list of sponsors that have donated stuff for this day. Raffles money is going to aid Officer Charles's family. $5 raffle tickets.
